Siem Reap is relatively small so you can travel by foot or rent a "motos" (a motorbike with a trailer behind) to visit most tourist attractions. However, traffic can be quite harrowing so if you're faint of heart, rent a taxi instead.

While Cambodia may be a war-torn country, it is generally quite safe to visit Siem Reap, a thriving tourist-centric city. Just don't go off to the borderlands where landmines are still a threat.

Malaysia is a rich mix of diverse cultures and peoples of different ethnic origins, but predominantly Malay Muslims. As in most Asian cultures, exploring the various local customs and traditions are fun, but do remember to be respectful and dress conservatively.
Tipping is not a common practice in Malaysia, as most outlets already charge an extra 10% for service. However, there's no harm if you're particularly generous or would like to be remembered by the staff.
Travel light when you're sightseeing. Bring along only essential documents plus a little money in a pouch and keep your other valuables in the hotel safe. Be sure to keep an eye on your possessions at all times.

The left hand is considered impious or unclean in Jakarta. Hence it is uncustomary to hand anything to anyone with the left hand. The right hand should always be forwarded to either give or receive something. The same is applicable for a left-handed person.
The best time to visit is between June and September because during this period, there is less rainfall, and subsequently less occurrences of floods.
